The thought came to me after reading about the devastating earthquake in Mexico and watching some pictures of the rescuers. Even when all of those were very tragic stories, I feel that one of them was the saddest: The death of thirty kids when their school was destroyed.
That terrible ending refreshed in my mind the feeling that there is NO warranty and that we MUST live every moment, simply because life is unpredictable and anything, absolutely ANYTHING, can change in a blink of an eye. When those parents kissed their children that morning before going to school, they did not know that THAT kiss was the last one.
When life hits, it hits very hard and has no compassion. She doesn’t care who you are, how strong you are or how big is your bank account. In most of the cases there is no remedy or anesthesia enough to avoid the emotional pain of a loss like that big.
But there is one thing that certainly you CAN do before: Enjoy every single moment of your life while you can. When you play with your kids, when you talk to your wife or husband, when you travel or even if you are alone just reading a book of having a coffee. Enjoy every sip, every kiss, every hug while you have the chance. Because you never know if THAT will be the last one.
Life is a “double face” lady. Take advantage and enjoy everything while she smiles at you.
